My deep thought of the day: Sometimes I don't understand life - broken relationships, human nature, and trials of all kinds - I wonder why God would allow it all - but then I remember that God did not even spare His own Son - in order that we might be saved. In retrospect, how can I ask Him to spare me from pain and suffering, if He did not spare Himself, but sent His beloved Son to die on the cross?

Life...Updated.

"I wandered out alone under the stars and cried out to God. His reply: "You are Mine and I am Lord! Now is the time to leave all and follow Me!" After many tears my answer was, "Yes, Lord!" - Henry Blackaby

I'm at peace - only because of Him. I've been growing a whole lot over this month - from the initial pain and tears - to the sense of peace and reaffirmed love for God. He has been teaching me, painfully, about unconditional love - agape - the love that is really love - first of all, for Him, second of all, for friends. I've really grown a lot this month after going through the pain and letting Him have his heart surgery on me. God has truly been reforming me - all of my heart - to love him wholeheartedly. God's story with Job and several books have laid insight for me in my life. I've enjoyed Henry Blackaby's insight on the faith of Abram and I can't help but relate to Abraham's life and faith. In the same way that He worked in Abram, He is shaping me.

I've been in love with this song lately. It totally speaks to my life and heart in relevance to everything.

What if I climbed that mountain? What if I swam to that shore?
What if every battle was victorious? Then would You love me more?
Would You love me more?
What if I were everyone’s first choice? What if I went farther than before?
What if I stood high above the rest? Then would You love me more?
Would You love me more?

You say I belong to You, apart from the things I do
You say I belong to You, I’m in awe of why You do
Why You do, why You do, I’m in awe of You, ooh

What if I ignored the hand that fed me? What if I forgot to confess?
What if I stumbled down that mountain? Then would You love me less?
Lord, would You love me less?

What if I were everyone's last choice? What if I mixed in with the rest?
What if I failed what I passed before? Then would You love me less?
Lord, would You, would You love me less, oh no, oh no, oh no

Peace,
Laurie

First of all thanks for listening to our song
We hope this finds you driving in your car
or where ever you are breath out and breath again
know that life is hard, but its worth the breathing,
listen to me now for the love, oh love,
It's waiting for you just to say
here come better days here come better days,
better days, and a better place I know.

Secondly I'm all screwed up so royally
I stumbled my way here, but wait, oh wait
grace has found me shaken up my soul,
grace will follow where ever you may go,
listen to me now grace, oh grace,
is calling for you just to say
here come better days here come better days,
better days, and a better place I know.

Green grass and I'm laying in the sunlight of You,
the wind is moving through the trees blustering You,
and the better days You bring, the better places found,
feasting at Your table I'm overwhelmed,
and I lift my glass drink to love that never gave up,
clouds pass fading into memories gone,
and all I know for life is life and love and peace,
what else could there be?

here come better days, oh here come better days,
better days, and a better place I know

- Robbie Seay Band, "Better Days"
